📣📣📣We are delighted to announce that the SGTD Doraleh terminal has reached a new milestone! We celebrated the new record of 1.2 M TEU for total volumes handled in 2024, the highest container throughput since the opening of the terminal, with our CEO, Mr. Abdillahi Adaweh Sigad and all the teams! The entire team joined together to celebrate this historic moment. This achievement reinforces our position as a key transshipment hub in the region. The CEO extended his warmest thanks to all our customers, the National Authorities and the Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority for their unwavering support, which was essential in achieving this success. Visit of the IHEDN (Institut des Hautes Etudes de Défense Nationale)

On January 13th, members of the IHEDN (Institut des Hautes Etudes de Défense Nationale), a French public administrative body specialising in defence expertise and awareness-raising visited our terminal. This visit’s main goal was to understand the significant role of ports activities in Djibouti’s economic advancement by visiting our state-of-the-art facilities accompanied by a comprehensive presentation of the terminal’s position in the regional context and international trade at large.

The Ethiopian Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Gideon Tomothewos, visited Djibouti and the Terminal for the first time. Accompanied by a high-level delegation including the Ethiopian Ambassador to Djibouti H.E. Mr. Berhanu Tsegaye, the Chairman of DPFZA Mr. Aboubaker Omar Hadi,

SGTD DORALEH TERMINAL ACHIEVES CONTAINER THROUGHPUT RECORD

The SGTD Doraleh Terminal achieved a historic milestone in October 2024 by surpassing 1 million TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units) in just 10 months, marking the first time in its history. The terminal expects to reach 1.2 million TEU by the end of the year. This record reflects a mix of origin & destination (O&D) and transshipment traffic, bolstering its position as a key transshipment hub in the Red Sea region.
